BATHROOM CENTRE BATHES IN STUDY SUCCESS
04-04-2006

Staff at Surrey and Hampshire based Wilky Bathrooms have taken the plunge with a study programme designed to ensure that their technical knowledge is right up to date.
The company, with a large showroom in Guildford and a distribution centre In Farnborough, signed up for the Bathroom Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) training programme last December and three of the team have already completed the first module.
Wilky Bathrooms chief executive Dominic Hughes said that staff members were being encouraged to study for the Certificate in Bathroom Studies because the level of technical knowledge required by bathroom retailers has grown significantly. “Knowing that our showroom team has studied the BMA’s Generic Industry Guides gives us confidence that Wilky Bathrooms can demonstrate a really thorough knowledge to our clients.
“Working mainly with builders and their sub-contractors means that most of our business is supply only, and that puts pressure on the sales staff, who all need to understand the basics of installing the various elements of the bathroom.”
Wilky Bathrooms was founded nearly 60 years ago, supplies to both residential developers and homeowners and has the largest dedicated showroom in the area, with 120 bathroom settings. It is part of The Wilky Group, a family owned business which also operates in the fields of property investment and development, property asset and loan management and serviced offices.
