SOAKING UP ‘GREEN’ BATHING EXPERTISE

Tapping into a fount of knowledge about water efficiency has put Farnborough and Guildford’s Wilky Bathrooms in prime position to advise on eco-friendly bathing.
Showroom sales consultant Dorota Pawlik and sales estimator and technical adviser Richard Clarke are the first two members of the national industry training organisation, the Bathroom Academy, to complete a qualification in water efficiency. Dorota and Richard were also pioneers in gaining the academy’s Certificate in Bathroom Studies last year after completing six training modules with outstanding scores.
Collecting her Water Efficiency Merit Certificate at the Bathroom & Kitchen Expo in London, Dorota said: “I was very keen to complete this training because it is such an important topic. I thought I knew quite a lot about water efficiency, but there is always something new to learn. Now, thanks to the research I conducted for the Merit, I am fully au fait with the water efficient products currently available on the market and I can confidently advise my customers.”
The Water Efficiency Merit requires students to conduct guided research with the help of the academy’s website and fact sheets. They must complete a workbook of generic questions covering all aspects of water efficiency in the UK, report on the work of other organisations that promote it and research water efficient products currently on the market.
Bathroom Academy chief executive Yvonne Orgill commented: “We are very proud of the students from Wilky Bathrooms. Dorota and Richard have done extremely well to achieve their Certificate in Bathroom Studies and it is a huge compliment to the Bathroom Academy that they are keen to go beyond that with further studies.”
The aim of the Bathroom Academy is to educate, inform and improve standards in the industry. Wilky Bathrooms chairman Sandra Young said that the company was encouraging staff at its Farnborough distribution centre and Guildford showroom to complete the academy’s training. “Bathroom installations are becoming increasingly complex and we believe this will help us provide customers with the kind of authoritative and dependable advice they have come to expect from Wilky.”
Wilky Bathrooms, part of the Wilky Group, is a family owned company established 60 years ago. It has the largest specialist retail showroom in the Guildford area, with more than 100 displays, and also designs and supplies bathrooms for prestigious developments.
